9" (23 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead of young black-complexioned pageboy, black sculpted tightly-curled short hair, enamel eyes, mouth modeled as though open, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted red boots, green stockings, wearing original costume comprising red silk shirt with gilt embroidery, gold silk vest with metallic banding, ivory harem pants, turban wrapped with metallic cord, and carrying a finely-wrought carved bone musical instrument. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
