19" (48 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and
painted facial features,large round googly eyes in
brown painted downcast expression,outlined eyes
with curly lashes,slightly-modeled short
brows,grey eye shadow,rounded nose with accent
dots,"O" shaped closed mouth,red mohair curly
wig,jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: Lenci (brown paper
label). Comments: Lenci,the painted eye googlies
were introduced in 1931 in a series of six
whimsical designs,and are considered extremely
rare to find. Value Points: wonderful original
condition,with beautiful facial painting,fabulous
hair,wearing fresh and crisp original multi-tiered
organdy skirt in shades of brown and green to
suggest Autumn leaves,with a bountiful cluster of
felt leaves and berries cascading down the
dress,two coral organdy
petticoats,panties,socks,brown felt shoes.
