Description
11" (28 cm.) h. x 29"l. x 13"d. The simple-framed
room box with ogee-shaped wooden base features two
rooms,three windows with original gilt-trimmed
wooden valances,and original wall and floor papers
that are different in each room,and features
decorative edgings at corners and ceilings,and
with hinged paneled door between the rooms. The
rooms are wonderfully-filled with Biedermeier
furnishings,possibly Wagner & Sohne,having rich
gilt trim,and include rarities such as the
drop-leaf side table,dressing table,drop-front
secretary desk,and bookcase with arched windows.
Other furnishings include an upholstered settee
and chairs,ceramic parlor stove,early
prints,carpets,pewter service,silk pillow with
blue bird embroidery,a pair of busts on wooden
pedestals,and an early bisque doll. Excellent
condition. Germany,the room is by Christian Hacker
and has his original stamp and paper label on the
underside. Circa 1865.
