Description
16"(41 cm.) x 32"l. x 17". The Biedermeier style
one-room store with single glass front display
window having shelved interior has original pale
grey painted finish with red pencil-stripe
trim,pale blue painted interior walls with darker
blue rims,and a painted floor with geometric tile
designs. A curving metal staircase with original
gilt finish is at one side,leading to a mezzanine
that runs along three sides,and is fronted by a
gilt tin railing and wooden posts,The back wall
features 12 spice drawers with porcelain labels
that center a wide display niche with scalloped
front shelving. There are deep shelves on one side
wall,and a matching free-standing counter with
tinplate and brass scale and a tinplate paper
cutter. Various food stuffs,tins,plates of
food,stoneware wine jugs,a cast iron dolly,and an
early wall telephone outfit the store. Very good
original condition. Germany,Kindler & Briel,circa
