24" (61 cm.) Felt swivel head with uptilted face
on long slender neck,original darkened
complexion,well-defined chin and cheek
bones,painted facial features,side-glancing brown
eyes with very heavy eyelids,lushly-painted black
lashes,black brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth
with painted teeth,painted spit curls in front of
each ear,black felt fitted cap with wide petal
frame and applique felt flowers,long slender lady
shape,posed seated with molded bent elbows,and
jointing at the hips and knees,high heel posed
feet. Condition: good,some dustiness to limbs,some
color run and moth holes in shawl. Comments:
Lenci,from their 165 series of salon dolls,circa
1925. Value Points: rare early model with
wonderfully preserved facial painting and
elaborate headdress,original costume whose details
include original orange bangle earrings,and a
wooden fan with painted toreador scene.
