11" (28 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, mauve blushed eyeshadow, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the shaded outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, bisque forearms with defined sculpting of fingers. Condition: generally excellent, small kid reinforcement on upper arms. Marks: A. 2 T.(head and shoulders). Comments: Andre Thuillier, circa 1882, his early kid-bodied model of bebe. Value Points: the rare bebe with exquisite painting and completion, original very sturdy body and finely-sculpted bisque hands, rare petite size, antique lace dress, undergarments, velvet cap, and leather shoes with metal star rosettes which are impressed A.T. The doll has a blue ribbon award from UFDC exhibition.
