Description
20" (51 cm.) Standing upon a velvet-covered wooden
box is a bisque-head doll with blue glass
eyes,mohair lashes,open mouth,four porcelain
teeth,dimpled chin,pierced ears,blonde mohair
wig,cork pate,carton torso and legs,wire upper
arms,bisque forearms,wearing rose silk
frock,undergarments,leather shoes,woven
bonnet,holding nosegay of flowers in her right
hand,and appearing to hold a basket in her right
hand (actually supported by a hidden metal rod
from torso. When wound,the little girl turns her
head from side to side and blinks her eyes,then
lifts nosegay toward face to smell the flowers,and
then lifts the lid of her basket to reveal the
surprise: a little hummingbird that flits about.
