delicate painting of gouache or watercolor is
heightened with rich oil techniques,and depicts
two eager young children clamoring for the
Polichelle that the shop owner is showing to them.
In the background is her toy stall with many other
toys,and a French village street scene with other
people. The details of costumes,toys,and facial
expressions are exceptional. By the noted French
artist,Luigi Loir,who specialized in miniature
scenes of child,mid/late 19th century. Excellent
condition. C. 1880.
