17" (43 cm.) Art-plaster sculpted head of adult lady with oval face, long slender throat and modeled bosom, artistically-painted face with deeply-set eye sockets, closed mouth, blonde mohair wig in soft long curls, attached to wooden cage base and wearing exquisite period silk gown and jewelry. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Ada/L. Baitz (incised on back shoulderplate). Comments: Lilly Baitz, circa 1920, from a series of fashionable lady’s sculpted by the artist and produced in her own studios. Value Points: rare lady dolls with distinctive elegant or gentle demeanors.
