Description
15" (38 cm.) overall h. with windmill blades. A
vignette features a bisque-headed doll leaning
from the window of a windmill shed,she having blue
glass inset eyes,closed mouth,painted
features,blond e mohair wig,cap,and costume,bisque
hands and holding a fiddle in her hands. The shed
is of lightwood with dark lacquered finish and
applique slats and trim,and has three windmill
blades,the whole arranged on a wooden platform is
moss and flowers. The back of the windmill shed
has an open top from which protrudes a silk candy
bag with drawstring closure. Excellent condition,a
curious but charming vignette of folk art
quality,well-preserved. French,circa 1900.
