12" (30 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head,large
amber brown glass enamel in set eyes known as
"wrap-around,dark eyeliner,painted
lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed
mouth with outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde
mohair wig,cork pate,French composition and wooden
eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight
wrists,antique dress with embroidered
collar,undergarments,lace cap with velvet
ribbons,knits stockings,black leather shoes.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (illegible
number on head,probably 4) Jumeau Medaille d'Or
Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa 1878.
Value Points: very rare earliest period Jumeau
bebe with extraordinary eyes,original early
body,lovely presence,and with extremely rare early
signed gilt lettered shoes "E. Jumeau Med d'Or
1878 Paris Depose".
