19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head with light amber tinted complexion, small brown glass eyes, painted curly upper lashes, black brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, open mouth, two porcelain upper teeth, tongue, outlined lips, black mohair wig, amber composition bent limb baby body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: made in Germany 16 243 JDK (head) Germany (body). Comments: Kestner, circa 1912, their portrait of young Chinese child. Value Points: exceptionally fine quality of bisque with beautifully tinted complexion, fabulous antique silk costume including elaborately beaded headdress, an unusual large size of this model indicating luxury production.
