26" (66 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with plump
elongated cheeks and chin,oval-shaped face,dark
blue glass paperweight inset eyes,dark
eyeliner,painted lashes,brush-stroked and
feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded
nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between
the shaded and outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde
mohair hand-tied wig over cork pate,French
composition and wooden fully-jointed body with
straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: A 13 T. Comments: Andre Thuillier,circa
1884,from the early period of his firm's
production; few dolls were created each year
during this time. Value Points: very rare doll in
pristine condition with especially fine quality of
sculpting such as well-defined chin,lips and
philtrum,superb bisque and painting,original wig
lettered "13" on inside,original body and body
finish,and wearing possibly-original antique slate
blue woolen princess-style dress with brown velvet
trim,silk borders and
buttons,undergarments,stockings,ruffled lace and
silk bonnet,and leather laced boots signed C.P.
