15" (38 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulder plate,very plump cheeks balanced
by a tiny blushed chin,pale blue glass enamel
inset eyes with spiral threading and darker blue
iris rims,dark eyeliner,painted
lashes,mauve-blushed eye shadow,brush-stroked and
feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth
with outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig
over cork pate,kid gusset-jointed bebe body with
square cut collarette and gusset-jointing at hips
and knees,bisque lower hands. Condition: generally
excellent,fine professional restoration of right
hand fingers. Marks: 0 (head and shoulder plate).
Comments: Bebe Brevete,the first period bebe by
Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1880,the model was deposed
by Bru in 1879. Value Points: exceptionally
beautiful example of this bebe with splendid eyes
and superb painting of the delicate
bisque,original body,lovely antique costume
comprising pique dress with blue satin
bow,undergarments,fancy bonnet,with blue silk
lining and bows,knit stockings,black leather shoes
