28" (71 cm.) One-piece felt head and torso with
refined slender shape and pose,her head inclined
to the right with uptilted chin,side-glancing blue
eyes in defined eye sockets,heavily-lidded
eyes,brown eyeliner encircles the eyes,grey eye
shadow,aquiline nose,closed mouth with painted
teeth and two accent dots on bottom lip,blonde
mohair wig in long ringlet curls,slender torso
with slightly-defined bosom,jointing at shoulders
and knees,modeled bent knees,feet posed for high
heels. Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
Lenci,the doll was shown in the 1930 Lenci
catalog,model #569 with ideal green gown; the
distinctive ringlet curled hair is suggestive of
"America's Sweetheart",Mary Pickford. Value
Points: rare early model in fine state of
preservation,wearing original shaded-coral organdy
gown with multi-tiered ruffles at the skirt and
sleeves,with matching felt heeled shoes,silk
floral decorations,matching organdy petticoat and
hoop skirt,pearls,and holding a little green-eyed
kitten on her shoulder.
