Bru,Bebe Modele was first mentioned in his 1879
advertising and appears to only have been made
until 1883 at the latest, always in very limited
exclusive numbers. The wooden-bodied bebe or child
doll was a continuation of his deposed
wooden-bodied poupee or lady doll,also a luxury
model. This example, with Brevete face,is the
earliest period model. Value Points: an
exceptional Bebe Modele,in rare petite size, with
superb body sculpting,original body finish,and
finest quality of bisque with exquisite complexion
and painting of eye decoration. An antique knit
dress with blouse,undergarments,stockings,shoes
and lace and silk bonnet is included.
