23" (58 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and
painted facial features,very chubby cheeks,large
shaded-blue side-glancing eyes with pronounced
white accent dots,grey eyeshadow,brown curly upper
lashes,comma-shaped brows,rounded nose with
accented nostrils,closed mouth with accented
bottom lip,blonde short hair,jointing at shoulders
and hips. Condition: very good,some light costume
fading. Comments: Lenci,1928,the Bellhop was shown
in the 1928 catalog simply as #563,a unique doll
that stood outside any of the series. Value
Points: very rare model wearing original blue felt
bellhop costume with black and cream trim,matching
cap with chin strap that emphasizes his chubby
face,sewn-on white glove with black trim,white
flannel spats,leather shoes,and with a bouquet of
felt flowers; few examples of the model are known
to exist today.
