16" (41 cm.) Art-plaster sculpted head of adult lady with oval head flirtatiously tilted to the side, long slender throat and modeled bosom, impressed cheek dimples suggesting a smile on her closed mouth, impressed eye sockets with brown painted eyes, shaded grey mohair wig in soft coiled waves, shapely cloth body, bisque arms, composition lower legs in fashionable pose, wearing purple velvet gown with applique decorations and floral corsage. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Irene/ Baitz (incised on back shoulderplate). Comments: Lilly Baitz, circa 1920, from a series of fashionable lady’s sculpted by the artist and produced in her own studios; the various models were given names, such as "Irene" which appear on the back shoulderplate. Value Points: her wonderful gown enhances the charm of her "come hither" look on the rare doll.
