Description
17 1/2" (44 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial features, very chubby face especially of cheeks and chin, narrow brown side-glancing eyes, pronounced grey lower eye shadow, painted upper lashes, curvy brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with bow-shaped pursed lips, blonde mohair wig with soft arranged curls, felt body with jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Lenci (label on original box, pencil model # illegible). Comments: Lenci, from the 1500 series, marketed as Grugnetto, circa 1932, the model was made for a few years only. Value Points: very rare and wonderfully-preserved model is wearing pale blue elaborate organdy baby gown with tiered ruffles, matching smocked bonnet with felt flowers, blue felt shoes, undergarments, bib, and carries original bone carved baby rattle.
