Description
16 1/2" x 24 1/2" image. (28 3/4" x 21 1/4" with
matte). Black printed etching on vellum portrays a
young Victorian girl sleeping,her bisque doll
clasped in her arms,while eight Japanese Ichimatsu
dolls are standing nearby watching the girl.
Etching by Stephen Ferris (1835-1915 (signed lower
right) after a painting by C.D. Weldon (signed
lower left). Published by C. Klackner,1883,New
York for the Philadelphia Art Alliance who has the
edition as 60 proofs. Excellent condition. 1884.
