17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with three-seamed
head,pressed and oil-painted facial features and
hair,dark brown hair,small painted blue eyes with
black and brown upper eyeliner,small nose,closed
mouth with pouting expression,painted
ears,stitch-jointing at arms,disc-jointed
lips,frog-like hand stitching,wearing antique
costume of brown woolen pants,checkered
shirt,green velvet coat,woolen cap and
scarf,woolen leggings and original leather shoes.
Condition: very good/excellent,paint rub above
mouth and on right cheek. Marks: Kathe Kruse (and
illegible numbers,left foot). Comments: Kathe
Kruse,the early 1911 model with smaller facial
features,darker hair and distinctive hands. Value
Points: rare early model in well-preserved
condition,appealing expression.
