16" (41 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head on
kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,deep blue glass
enamel inset eyes with spiral threading and darker
iris rims,dark eyeliner,painted curly
lashes,mauve-blushed eye shadow,brush-stroked and
feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth
with defined space between the shaded and outlined
lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig,kid
gusset-jointed bebe body with bisque forearms and
hands. Condition: generally excellent,few mends to
kid body. Marks: A 5 T (head and shoulder plate).
Comments: Andre Thuillier,circa 1880,the earliest
model of his rarely found bebe. Value Points: an
outstanding bebe with transfixing expression
enhanced by dramatically-decorated deep
paperweight eyes,beautiful complexion with subtle
blushing,original body with perfect bisque hands
having defined knuckles and nails,exquisite
antique rose silk costume with brocade design and
ruffled edging,undergarments,rose net
stockings,fancy bonnet,and leather shoes with silk
rosettes signed A.T.
