12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head,small brown glass
sleep eyes,dark eyeliner,black brush-stroked and
feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth
with defined row of teeth,sculpted black moustache
with curled tips,tiny goatee,black mohair
wig,composition and wooden ball-jointed
body,antique sailor costume. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 1308 A S&H 2. Comments: Simon
and Halbig,circa 1910,a very rare model from their
art character series,made in several
variations,for example,with or without
moustache,or with glass or painted eyes. Value
Points: the rare character has exceptional quality
of bisque especially for smaller size,with
impressed laughter lines in cheeks and around
eyes,rare moustache and goatee.
