13" (33 cm.) All cloth doll with deeply-pressed
facial features depicting a laughing
child,oil-painted complexion,hair and
features,delicately-swirled curls on the
forehead,brown eyes in deeply-set sockets,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between
the shaded lips,well-defined ears,padded armature
frame with stockinette cover,mitten
hands,single-seamed head,antique costume.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Kathe Kruse
(left foot). Comments: Kathe Kruse,the
"Schlenkerchen" model,made for a very short
period,1922. Value Points: the rarity of the early
model is rivaled only by the delightful
expression,fine original finish is well-preserved.
