17" (43 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and
painted facial features,blue side-glancing
eyes,painted brown upper lashes,closed mouth with
primly-painted lips,blonde mohair wig with braided
chignon,jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition:
very good,hair a tad mussed,missing apron. Marks:
Liguria Riomaggiore (on Lenci heart-shaped
parchment tag). Comments: Lenci,circa 1935,the
doll is wearing blue felt folklore gown with
embroidered flowers from the region of Liguria on
the northern coast of Italy,with felt coiffe
decorated with embroidery,medallions and
appliques,carrying a basket of felt flowers,with
lace collar,gold
beads,petticoat,pantalets,socks,and blue felt
shoes. Value Points: beautiful detail of coiffe
extends to the back with detail of embroidered
birds on the rarely-found model with identification.
