18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head,painted facial features,pale blue eyes in upper-glancing expression,black upper eyeliner,one-stroke brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with smiling expression,row of sculpted and painted teeth,brunette human hair braids,composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 151 S&H 7 1/2. Comments: Simon and Halbig,circa 1910,the illustrious firm created only three models for their 100 character series,a beautiful woman,a pensive boy,and this,a delightful merry girl. Value Points: exemplary quality of sculpting defines the laughter lines around the eyes and mouth,impressed cheek dimples,and dainty upturned nose,with finest bisque and painting,original wig,body,body finish,and antique linen/cotton dress,undergarments,black stockings,signed shoes.
