Description
10" (25 cm.) Wax head portraying an older lady
with strong features and incised age lines,closed
mouth,tiny bead eyes,on original carved wooden
body with shapely torso,dowel-jointing at hips and
knees,porcelain lower limbs with painted shoes and
right hand sculpted to hold an object. Condition:
generally excellent,small nose rubs,Comments:
circa 1850,the body was more commonly found with
porcelain head to match the limbs; this head is
original and more rare to find. Value Points:
wonderful doll with original peddler's costume and
carrying large basket of tiny original sewing
notions,and other baskets.
