Description
20" (51 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with oval-shaped
slender face,small brown glass sleep eyes,dark
eyeliner,painted lashes,feathered brows,aquiline
nose with accented nostrils,closed mouth with
outlined lips,blonde mohair wig,kid pin-jointed
body with bisque forearms. Condition: generally
excellent,one thumb tip chipped. Marks: 215 3 B&D
LTD Germany. Comments: Bawo and Dotter,circa
1910,from their very rare series of art character
dolls; the doll firm was more known for their
china and sculpted-hair bisque dolls of the late
19th century,until in 1907 they advertised "new
model heads with lifelike expression". This lady
doll model was available with either composition
or kid bodies. Value Points: very rare model with
beautiful bisque and sublime expression,lovely
antique costume.
