41" (104 cm.) All-carved wooden figure with
deeply-sculpted flowing hair,enamel inset
eyes,carved facial features and ears with
paint-over-gesso complexion and features,painted
gold detail of sandals and lacing,wearing early
blue velvet robe. Condition: generally
excellent,finish is original with very minor
craquelure. Comments: late 18th/early 19th century
Neopolitan or Santon figure. Value Points: superb
artistry of carving and painting with exceptional
expression.
