16" (41 cm.) All cloth doll with flat-dimensional
face,painted small arched brows,four painted
lashes under each rounded black shoe-button
eye,painted diamond-shaped nose,small smiling
mouth with red center and upturned corners,red
worsted wool hair,muslin stitch-jointed
body,sewn-on red and white striped
stockings,sewn-on black cotton shoes. Condition:
generally excellent. Comments: Raggedy Andy from
the illustrations of Johnny Gruelle,made by
Volland,circa 1920. Value Points:
wonderfully-preserved condition,the early model
Andy wears his original blue plaid shirt with
black bow,blue cotton pants with white buttons.
