16" (41 cm.) All-cloth doll with flat-dimensional face,black rounded shoe-button eyes set inside large eye whites that are created by surrounding blushed complexion,black brows,four painted lashes under each eye,small triangle-shaped nose,black painted mouth with red center,red worsted wool hair,muslin stitch-jointed body,red and white striped sewn-on stockings,black sewn-on sides. Condition: generally excellent,missing bow-tie. Comments: Raggedy Andy by Volland,their earliest period of production,circa 1920,an identical model is shown in TabbatÞs "The World of Raggedy Ann and Andy",page 28. Value Points: rare early model with wonderfully-painted face and state of preservation,wearing his original plaid shirt,blue cotton pants with six buttons,matching cap.
