Description
11" (28 cm.) Standing teddy with head and hands of
golden-brown mohair,stitched ears at the sides of
head,shoe-button eyes,embroidered nose and
mouth,muslin body with sewn-on red felt gaiters
over black felt shoes with tan soles,wearing
original cotton shirt with blue polka dots,felt
collar,blue bow,grey felt pants with white buttons
and a large white felt patch at the back with a
center hole for his tail. Condition: generally
excellent,some dustiness to collar and shirt,no
hat. Comments: "Little Brown Bear",designed and
patented by Johnny Gruelle in 1921,made by Ross
and Ross for an original wholesale price of $11
1/20. Value Points: wonderfully-made delightful
storybook character is well-preserved,very rare to
find.
