11" (28 cm.) largest duck. Six ducks of carved
wood have hinged legs,wood-segmented necks for
infinite posing,carved beaks,one with carved
hat,and each with painted yellow "feathers",orange
vest with black buttons,and black feet. Condition:
fair,original finish with varying extensive
flaking and paint wear,mamaÞs hat is not original.
Marks: (original paper label on feet of two
ducks). Comments: Schoenhut,circa 1915,the ducks
depicted characters from Johnny GruelleÞs Quacky
Doodles and Danny DaddlesÞ Book. Value Points:
rare American toys by Schoenhut,along with
SchoenhutÞs Cletus Clown,a character from
MarcellaÞs nursery.
