Description
15" (38 cm.) The nicely-finished wooden wringer is
designed to hinge open, folding racks for drying or
to hold laundry tubs, with adjustable wringer rolls
at the top that turn from a wooden-grip metal
handle. The wringer is stamped "New Eclipse
Wringer Co,New York",and its makerÞs label as well
as intricate construction indicate its original
purpose as a salesmanÞs sample, although it is
perfectly sized for doll display. Excellent
condition. American,mid/late 18th century,the
Eclipse Co. advertised "every wringer warranted"
with "solid white rubber rolls" which would have
been an expensive luxury construction detail at
that time.
