Description
19" (48 cm.) With black lacquer finish and painted
with gold designs depicting various country
scenes,there are three layers of lidded baskets
resting within the ornamental base and having a
cast bronze handle and trim. Excellent condition.
Probably Japanese,late 19th century,the wedding
basket was used to deliver gifts of food to newlyweds.
