Description
5 1/2" (14 cm.) Each is firmly-stuffed muslin doll with stitch-sculpted nose and ears,daintily-painted facial features,tightly-stitched silk fleece hair (the woman with arranged curls). The woman has slender elongated body,sewn-on blue silk laced shoes,and original muslin gown with net-edged undergarments and collar,blue silk bonnet and earrings; and the babies,a boy and girl judging by their original costumes,have bodies stitch-shaped with bent limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: early 19th century,probably English. Value Points: wonderful detail of painting,hair,and costumes on the early rare dolls.
