25" (64 cm.) Bisque socket head with plump facial
modeling,blue glass sleep eyes that operate from a
lever at the back of head,painted lashes with
"dot" highlights,mauve-blushed eye
shadow,brush-stroked and feathered brows,accented
eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with
outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over
cork pate,Steiner composition fully-jointed body
with straight wrists,lovely antique rose muslin
dress with lace collar,matching
bonnet,undergarments,shoes,stockings. Condition:
generally excellent,arms and lower legs are
repainted,sleeping eye mechanism is complete
although eyes are set. Marks: Sie C 4 (incised)
Steiner Bourgoin SGDG (red ink script). J. Steiner
(eyes). Comments: Jules Steiner,circa 1884,the
bebe has ink script on her torso "Regina 1884"
indicating the original name of doll or first
owner. Value Points: an especially pretty bebe
with very beautiful complexion and painting.
