Description
16" (41 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head on bisque
shoulder plate,brilliant cobalt blue glass enamel
inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,arched
feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth
with outlined lips,unpierced ears,brunette mohair
wig over lambswool cap and cork
pate,softly-stuffed kid poupee body with bisque
forearms,holes in torso for sitting strings
(strings lacking),wooden knees with kid caps.
Condition: generally excellent,possible fine
restoration to hands. Marks: (Rohmer oval stamp on
torso). Comments: Leontine Rohmer,circa 1860.
Value Points: especially beautiful face whose
dramatic eyes contrast the pale bisque,original
body,wearing beautiful antique
gown,undergarments,stockings,leather shoes in
Huret style (unsigned).
