17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with elongated narrow neck,black rounded shoe-button eyes,hand-painted features including arched brows,four painted lashes,outlined red elongated triangle-shaped nose,one-line thin smiling mouth with upturned sides,reddish-brown worsted yarn hair,stitch-jointed body,sewn-on red and white striped stockings to above the knees with painted shoes. Condition: fair,much loved with faded features,hair worn away at back. Comments: Raggedy Ann,the very early model is an early Gruelle-family-made doll or earliest Volland,circa 1915. Value Points: Very rare doll,including painted shoes,wearing original flowered muslin dress,white cotton pinafore and bloomers.
