16" (41 cm.) All-cloth doll with flat-dimensional face,brown wool worsted hair,painted eye-whites behind flat shoe-button eyes,tiny one-stroke angled brows,six painted lashes under each eye,outlined diamond-shaped nose,slight smiling line,rosy cheeks,stitch-jointed muslin body with heart inside chest,red and white striped sewn-on stockings,black sewn-on cotton shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Patented Sept 7,1915 (stamp). Comments: Raggedy Ann from drawings by Johnny Gruelle,by Volland,circa 1918. Value Points: wonderful condition and most endearing expression on the early beloved doll,wearing her original faded blue cotton dress with floral print,apron,bloomers.
