22" (56 cm.) Papier-mache shoulder head of adult lady with elongated strong throat,black enamel inset eyes,painted lashes,feathered brows,closed mouth with outlined lips,accented nostrils and eye corners,painted black pate under original braided hand-knotted human hair wig,rare original body with muslin-over wood upper torso having shapely bosom and tiny waist,pink kid lower torso and legs,kid arms with stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent,some repair to kid at wrists. Comments: for the French market,with original French body,head probably by Andreas Voit,circa 1840. Value Points: early doll with fine original body,having her original knotted wig in original braids,and elaborate original costume and leather boots.
