Description
11" (28 cm.) Standing upon a tinplate platform
with three spoked wheels and hidden clockwork
mechanism is a bisque head doll with large cobalt
blue glass eyes,painted lashes and brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with center accent line,ears
pierced into head,blonde mohair wig with
waist-length original braids,carton torso and
legs,wire upper arms,bisque forearms,with original
blue silk gown with Alencon lace. When wound,the
platform glides forward and in circles as though
she is casually walking along,turns her head side
to side and raises her right arm up and down as
though sniffing the delicate flowers she holds.
Condition: generally excellent,functions well.
Comments: attributed to Vichy,circa 1860. Value
Points: fine luxury toy with especially beautiful
face on the doll.
