Description
24" (61 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with
elongated face and very full cheeks,brown glass
paperweight inset eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted
lashes,incised eyeliner,mauve-blushed eye
shadow,brush-stroked and multi-feathered
brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed
mouth with defined space between the shaded and
outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over
cork pate,French composition and wooden
fully-jointed body with straight wrists,separated
fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 4

Halopeau,successor to the Barrois firm in
1878,created only a very small number of dolls
during the ten years that his business survived.
The early model heads,such as this,were
hand-painted by the prominent artist Barnard.

lips,outstanding bisque and painting of

lovely antique silk
