Description
12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head,brown glass
paperweight inset eyes,brown
eyeliner,brush-stroked brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with richly-shaded
lips,brunette mohair wig over cork pate,on
original hollow carton body that is covered by
original white pique bunting,with jointed
composition arms. The bunting is decorated with
blue ribbons and bows,and there is a matching
bonnet. The base of bunting removes for use as
"boite de bon-bons" or candy box. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: F.G. Comments: bisque
doll by Gaultier,the candy box was prepared by a
prestige Parisian candy store,circa 1895. Value
Points: rare 19th century ephemera with original
costume.
