22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head,dark blue glass sleep eyes,painted lashes,brush-stroked brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,open mouth,accented and shaded lips,four porcelain teeth,pierced ears,brunette hand-knotted human hair wig,cork pate,French body with composition and wooden fully-jointed arms and one-piece legs hinged at the hips,designed for a child to "walk" along. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Juilliien 7 (head) Bebe Marcheur (base of box) Bebe Marcheur Fabrication Jumeau (inside lid of box,along with other advertising). Comments: Armand Juillien,his "bebe marcheur,parlant et saluant" was introduced in 1898; one year later his firm was absorbed into SFBJ along with that of Jumeau,and it is likely that the doll and box were joined at that time,making use of existing supplies from the two firms. Value Points: the doll is all-original,wearing delicate rose silk dress with lace trim,undergarments,stockings,shoes,lace bonnet.
