Description
14" (36 cm.) doll. 5" all-bisque doll,22" x 10"
case. A bisque swivel-head doll on bisque shoulder
plate,has pale complexion,cobalt blue glass enamel
eyes,painted features,closed mouth,blonde mohair
wig,kid gusset-jointed body and bisque
forearms,elegantly costumed in antique fabrics,and
antique leather boots; she holds an all-bisque
doll with cobalt blue eyes,jointed limbs and
painted rose stockings and one-strap shoes,and the
two dolls are presented on a blue velvet backing
encircled by an elaborate gilt frame,all enclosed
within a wooden shadow-box with glass front.
Condition: generally excellent,note that the dolls
appear perfect but have not been removed from
their case and are sold as presented. Comments:
Germany,circa 1880. Value Points: very elegant and
elaborate presentation with imaginative details
and two very beautiful dolls.
