Description
11" (28 cm.) Posed upon a wooden-framed platform
with lithographed paper cover and cloth brocade
sides is a seated jester on velvet covered
stool,with bisque head,painted facial features
with highly-characterized smiling expression,blue
eyes,closed mouth with painted teeth,blonde mohair
wig,wooden block torso and lower limbs,painted
boots,wearing original silk clown costume and cap
with brass bell trim; along with a wooden bird
roost upon which is perched an exotic feathered
bird. When the bellows is squeezed,the bird bobs
back and forth and music plays. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: attributed to Zinner
and Sohne,Germany,circa 1910. Value Points: rare
and delightful toy with original papers and costumes.
