Description
4 1/2" (11 cm.) One-piece bisque head,torso and
legs with rich black complexion,loop-jointed
bisque arms with starfish-shaped hands,modeled
topknot,side curls and blue wings,left-glancing
googly eyes with pronounced eye dots,"dot" black
brows,closed mouth with large coral-shaded lips.
Condition: generally excellent,possible touch-up
to peak of topknot. Marks: OÞNeill (incised on
feet) (Two original Kewpie paper labels).
Comments: the Kewpie model,designed by Rose
OÞNeill modeled as Hottentot,circa 1912. Value
Points: rare model with wonderfully-painted eyes
and mouth,original labels.
