5 1/2" (14 cm.) doll. 6" x 3" box. A fancy card
stock box whose lid is decorated with silk
flounces,silk fringed edging and fancy papers
centering an oval engraving of a woman resembling
the doll has embossed gilt paper edging,and opens
to reveal a well-fitted interior featuring a
bisque doll with sculpted short brown hair,painted
features,bright blue eyes,muslin body,bisque lower
limbs with painted shoes,and muslin gown,along
with additional garments hidden under the lift-out
tray,and tiny accessories including
soaps,puff,combs,sachet,brush,perfume
bottle,mirror,and more. Condition: generally
excellent. Comments: Germany,for the French
market,circa 1875. Value Points: wonderful
presentation with many accessories highlights the
especially beautiful doll with exquisitely-painted
features.
