7" (18 cm.) h. hat. 6" inside head width. Hat
marked size 7 . A gentlemanÞs top hat of brushed
beaver in rich midnight black has a silk edged
brim and wool band,silk and leather lining,marked
with makerÞs symbol of rampant lionÞs enclosing a
crown and shield,and with original ownerÞs
initials J.W.W. The hat,which has never been
used,is stored in its original luxury firm-sided
leather box with lavish pleated teal blue silk
padded lining. Excellent condition. Circa 1890.
